The following are frequently asked questions about entering our School

In what language are the classes held?

All classes are held in Japanese and reports are to be submitted in Japanese.

Therefore, a certain level of Japanese comprehension is required. For more detail regarding the language ability level, please check the entrance requirement qualifications in the Guide for Admission Application for International Students.
What is the entrance examination like?

The entrance requirements for the 2-year Hotel Management Course consists of submission of all necessary documents, interview, aptitude test, written composition (800 characters) in Japanese and a Japanese language test. The entrance requirements for the 4-year Hotel Management Course consists of submission of all necessary documents, interview, written composition (800 characters) in Japanese, basic mathematics exam, and a Japanese language test.

Admission is in April every year and the entrance examination is held twice a year: November and February.
Those living abroad can only take the examination in November. The examination can be taken at one of two venues: Nakamura International Hotel School in Fukuoka or Nakamura Academy in Seoul, South Korea. The entrance examination in February can be taken by those who do not have to obtain a new status of residence, such as applicants who have a "student" visa or already reside in Japan.
Can I find employment in Japan?

International students will be issued a working visa if they work for a hotel.

The number of foreign tourists in hotels in Japan is increasing, and international students have the potential to find employment by utilizing their language skills.
I am living outside Japan now. Which visa do I need?

Before being admitted to Nakamura International Hotel School, you need to obtain a student visa under the General visa category.

If you live outside Japan before entering the school and thus do not have a student visa, the school will carry out the application procedure for the "Certificate of Eligibility" on your behalf after you fulfill the entrance requirements.
If you have a student visa as you are already attending a Japanese language school or for other reasons, we will ask you to extend the visa period.
Can I work as a part-time job?

If you are granted the Permission to Engage in Other Activities in connection with your study visa, you can generally work part-time up to 28 hours per week.

The school can introduce to you possible part-time jobs.
